Su Job

"My silk scarves and wraps are inspired by everything I experience as being opposed to the concept of sensuous and comforting. My current work uses photographic images of cold, urban environmental elements that I then transpose into textual patterns and print with dye on silk. My palette often originates from color combinations of trash and commercial signage that litters my neighborhood. These sources and then interpreted in silk and constructed with layers or "flaps" of patterns and color. Because of my construction technique, the same scarf can be worn in a variety of ways to reveal different color and pattern combinations."
